As we
previously reported, Vanessa Bryant filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company that was flying the aircraft at the time Kobe and Gianna Bryants passing, and now it seems as though a relative of the pilot, Ara George Zobayan, has answered but with a seemingly shocking claim.
According to TMZ, the relative responded to the wrongful death lawsuit and stated that the passengers are the ones who are responsible for the crashing of the helicopter, not the pilot. The relative also alleges that they knew the risks that were involved and were negligent.
“Any injuries or damages to plaintiffs and/or their decedent were directly caused in full or in part by the negligence or fault of plaintiffs and/or their decedent, including their knowing and voluntary encounter with the risks involved, and that this negligence was a substantial factor in causing their purported damages, for which this answering defendant bears no responsibility.”
If you remember Roommates, the LAPD and all other helicopters grounded their fleet, due to the fog. It was also reported that the pilot was flying 184 MPH in fog, when he ultimately crashed into a hill.
The answer doesnt go into detail as to how the passengers were negligent or knew any risks associated with flying. Its unclear as to what a passengers responsibility is, when a pilot is in control of the aircraft.
Vanessa Bryants lawsuit claims that the pilot shouldnt have been flying the helicopter, in the first place, due to the conditions. Her lawsuit doesnt list the amount of damages shes seeking. But its said that it could be in the millions.
Vanessa is also seeking damages for the loss of love, affection, care, society, service, comfort, support, right to support, companionship, solace or moral support and expectations of future support and counseling, also according to TMZ.
Roomies, please continue to keep the families that were lost in your prayers. Well update yall, when we get more deets.
