Remy Ma shared a full-circle moment with her fans on Instagram on Thursday, August 27 as she reminisced about her first job. The ‘Wake Me Up’ artist attended the 2026 US Open Tennis Championships in New York City on Wednesday, August 26, and it turns out that the event was her first job as a teenager back in 1998.
Reminisce Kioni Smith, otherwise known as rapper Remy Ma, shared an ID from her first job as a teenager working security at the US Open on Instagram. The year was 1998, and Smith said that she put in 12-hour shifts at the event working security.

“RemFunFact: my 1st job EVER as a teen was working security for the @usopen from midnight til noon; 12 hour shiftsBabyyyy I can assure u I wasnt securing sh*t .”
In addition to sharing a snap of her US Open security open ID, the ‘Put Em On’ rapper shared an interview from the “red carpet.” The carpet was actually blue to represent the US Open’s colors, and the artist sported a cream ALICE + OLIVIA leather tank top and tennis skirt paired with a matching Dior visor and Channel bag to the event. Remy noted that she’d been to the US Open before as a teen while describing the energy in New York City.
“I worked here,” she said from the blue carpet. “I was security.”
Fans reacted after Remy’s ID was shared on TSR’s Instagram page, and several Roomies noted the full-circle moment while remarking on the 46-year-old’s youthful appearance.

Speaking of throwbacks, Remy also shared a throw-back snap with Fat Joe on Instagram to note his 56th birthday on Wednesday, August 19. The post was captioned:
