With his new project Black Market releasing tomorrow, Rick Ross made sure to stop by the Breakfast Club to talk about his new music, his label MMG, relationship status and much more.
Right out the gate, Ross was asked about his latest track “Color Money” and was asked if he was taking shots at Drake. He said, “I just released “Color Money” and that record is what it is. There’s a lot of people that’s going to interpret it a lot of different ways. Everybody that knows Rozay knows how I get down, and when I come, I come. So I just say, let’s see how it unfolds.”
Nonetheless, the conversation got a little deeper when he was asked about that one particular line, “I got more money than that p*ssy that you signed to.” Automatically everyone assumed he was talking about Lil Wayne. However, Ross made it very clear that he has absolutely no problems with Wayne. Only leaving Birdman as the eligible candidate.
When asked about his relationship with Birdman he said, “I don’t have one with Birdman.” He continued, “For me to see the way things are transpiring, I cant respect that and I don’t respect that.” Ross talked about coming up and being inspired and idolizing the relationship Birdman and Wayne once shared. “That’s what I wanted to build my team after, the way they kids was molding together, the way their family. So for me to see this, that’s a no go.”
Aside from his thoughts about the on going Young Money/ Cash Money drama, Ross was also asked about his on going battle with 50 Cent. “I really feel like that situation is so dead, so much time has come and go, I have nothing else to prove.”
He continued, “He’s been the victim his whole life. You got the greatest start ever, Dre put you on, Eminem. I came out of Miami self-made, I didn’t have anybody that put me on that sold all of them records. I had to think, I had to hustle, I had to grind.”
Other highlights from the interview included talking about Meek Mill and Wale with their social media drama and even his current status with fiancé Lira Galore, who just happened to be in the room at the time.
