Rihanna Opens Up About Her New Music & Not Being Able To Tour Due To COVID-19—“I Just Want To Have Fun With Music”

Roommates, we all know that Rihanna is busy on her continuous journey of securing the bag in the fashion and beauty industry, but her fans desperately want new music. In a recent interview, Rihanna confirmed once again that her new music is on the way—and also revealed the kind of music she wants to make in the age of COVID-19.

Rihanna fans have been counting down the four long years since her last album, 2016’s multi-platinum success, “ANTI”—but she has given them recent assurance that a new album is forthcoming.

In a recent interview to discuss her SAVAGE X FENTY runway show for her popular lingerie line, Rihanna stated that for her new album she’s already held “tons of writing camps, which is where songwriters are put into groups to create original tracks for artists.

She explained that now she asking herself the questions that will ultimately decide how the album will sound. “What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that? How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before,” she said.

Rihanna continued, adding:

“You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it’s just like, what makes me happy? I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It’s overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I’m using that as my outlet.”

She also said that she has all the visuals for the project, but unfortunately she can’t tour right now due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Meanwhile, you can watch the SAVAGE X FENTY runway show streaming now on Amazon Prime.
