A suspect named Robin Westman has been identified following a shooting that killed two children and injured dozens of people at Annunciation Church, a Catholic church and school in Minneapolis.

More Details On Robin Westman Being Identified As Suspect Who Killed 2 Children & Injured Dozens Of People

According to Fox News, police identified Robin Westman as the 23-year-old shooter who opened fire on Annunciation church on Wednesday, August 27. Per police, Robin was reportedly carrying three firearms at the time. This reportedly included a rifle, a pistol, and a shotgun. Furthermore, Fox News reports that all three weapons appear to have been purchased legally.

In addition, the outlet reports that Robin Westman underwent a name change in 2019. Robin was reportedly born as “Robert Paul Westman.”

“Minor child [redacted] identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification,” Robin’s mother, Mary Grace Westman, reportedly asserted on the name change documents.

To note, the name “Mary Grace Westman” reportedly appeared on Annunciation’s Facebook feed in 2021. At this time, it is believed that Mary Grace was previously employed by Annunciation. Additionally, it is also believed that Robin attended the school up until 8th grade.

Fox News adds that a now-wiped YouTube channel seemingly belonging to Robin released a “timed” “manifesto” around the time of the fatal incident.

“[It] appeared to show him at the scene and included some disturbing writing,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told the press.

The New York Post reports that the footage saw Robin state that she “was tired of being trans” and wished she “never brain-washed” herself.

“I wish I was a girl I just know I cannot achieve that body with the technology we have today. I also cant afford that,” she reportedly stated in the footage.

According to ABC News, authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting.

More Details On The Fatal Incident At The Minneapolis Catholic School

Per Fox News, the incident occurred during the church’s morning mass. Robin is believed to have shot into Annunciation Church through the side windows, killing two children and wounding at least 15 others, in addition to at least three adults, per a Thursday, August 28 report from CNN. Afterward, Robin allegedly turned the gun on herself.

Ten victims were reportedly taken to Hennepin Healthcare and are expected to survive their wounds. Additionally, three children are still currently in care at Childrens Minnesota. However, four others were reportedly discharged from the location.

Hours Before Robin Westman Allegedly Gunned Down 2 Children At The Minneapolis School, Another Shooting Made Headlines

The shooting at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis occurred just hours after another shooting made shocking headlines. As The Shade Room previously reported, on Tuesday, August 26, an unidentified gunman opened fire in broad daylight on a crowd of seven people standing on a Minneapolis street. Furthermore, one person was killed while the rest were injured.

Per reports, the incident was a targeted attack, and police are still searching for the gunman.
