The internet felt it when the news broke that Rolling Ray passed away. As more details about his death remain private, his mother, Shazola Nay, recently offered some insight into her grief. Fans’ hearts broke twice after seeing the photo and message she shared. As previously reported, Ray, real name Juan ‘Raymond’ Harper, died at 28. At the time, he was days away from celebrating his 29th on September 5.
On September 8, The Shade Room reposted the photo message Rolling Ray’s mother shared on her Instagram (@nay49220). She posted a photo of her son leaning his head on her shoulder with his eyes closed as she smiled at the camera. She wrote “My Ray” with a broken-hearted emoticon on the IG Story repost. Meanwhile, on her feed, she captioned the memory:
“I don’t know how I’m gonna really keep going but I will….You wouldn’t see it any other way…I miss you, we all do.”
As previously reported, Shazola Nay reportedly confirmed that her son died to TMZ last week. She shared no additional details that the outlet reported. A post from a private Facebook account allegedly belonging to Rolling Ray’s mother also circulated before the official confirmation from TMZ. The post reportedly said that Ray had gone to be with the Lord and thanked everyone who had reached out so far. The family has not shared any plans regarding Ray’s memorial service and whether it will be public.
In addition to Shazola Nay, Zeus Network also confirmed the news on social media. Rolling Ray had previously appeared in one of its series.
Meanwhile, a source formerly close to the deceased told The Shade Room that Raymond had been battling medical issues in recent weeks.
