‘Rugrats’ Returns At Paramount+ Streaming Service With Original Voice Cast & Updated Animation Style

Roommates, if you are a fan of the iconic animated 90s series ‘Rugrats,’ you’re about to very happy with this latest news regarding the show! It was just announced that ‘Rugrats’ is officially set to return with its original voice cast and a fresh new animation style on the new streaming service Paramount+.

Popular cartoon series ‘Rugrats’ was one of the biggest hits on Nickelodeon when it premiered back in 1991 and until it ended nine seasons and 13 years later in 2004. Now, the show is finally making a return, much to the delight of fans. During its recent presentation to announce its upcoming programming slate, new streaming service Paramount+ confirmed that ‘Rugrats’ is set to return in 2021.

That’s not the only good news, as all of the original voice cast, including E.G. Daily (Tommy Pickles), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie Finster), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Cree Summer (Susie Carmichael) and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil DeVille,) are all returning to their beloved roles. To bring the characters into the present, CGI animation has now replaced the past look that fans are familiar with.

Speaking about the show’s return, Ramsey Naito, President of Nickelodeon Animation, had this to say:

“’Rugrats’ is one of the most iconic cartoons recognized by fans around the globe, and this original version is one we are taking great care and pride in creating for a brand-new audience. Having the voice cast behind these special characters come together is one of the essential pieces to making the show recognizable and we can’t wait to watch this talented group bring them to life again.”

As of now, there has been no word on when the new episodes of ‘Rugrats’ will premiere.
