After experiencing the heartbreak of a miscarriage, Carlos Morales, 29, and his wife, Erica, 36, decided to try and have a baby through in vitro fertilization which blessed them with not one or two, but four babies.
The Arizona couple arrived at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital when it was time for delivery and Erica was able to deliver all four babies successfully before tragedy struck. Giving birth through C-section, Erica had experienced extreme blood loss and died shortly after giving birth on January 16.
“I went from having the best day of my life to the next morning experiencing the worst day of my life,” Morales told People. “My four babies came into the world and then my wife died.”
Erica gave birth to one boy, Carlos Jr. and three girls Tracey, Erica and Paisley. Carlos Jr. and Tracey are back home with their dad, but Erica and Paisley still remain at the hospital.
Erica Morales did leave Carlos a guide for raising their children on her Ipad where she noted that she wanted her children to learn English and Spanish, attend college and get good jobs.
“I will try my hardest to make sure that happens,” said Carolos Morales
Nicole Todman, a family friend, started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help the grieving widower, the account has had over 7,000 donors and donations reached over $253,000.
We keep the husband and the rest of the Morales family in our deepest prayers.
