Saweetie Talks About Pretty Privilege: ‘I Won’t Act Like There Isn’t A Certain Type Of Power That Comes With People Admiring Your Face’

We all know that Saweetie keeps the innanet talking. Between her food combinations, Tik Tok vids, and her Birkin bag social media account, she keeps us entertained.

In a recent interview with @cosmopolitan, Saweetie talked about many thangs, including Pretty Privilege.

While the college grad is beauty and brains, she acknowledged there’s power, when people admire your face. She stated, “I won’t act like there isn’t a certain type of power that comes with people admiring your face. But that’s not something that gets me off.”

Saweetie continued, “I like being Female Athlete of the Year. I like getting 4.0s for a straight year. I like knowing that I write my own songs. I like knowing that I create my own treatments. I like knowing that I donated $150,000 to Black Lives Matter.”

Saweetie also reflected on her  2018 interview with Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenburg, and Laura Styles. She said, “It was a really dark point in my life. I went from being so loved so quickly because of ‘Icy Grl’ to, on my first promo run, well, you saw the interview. The script flipped really quick, like night and day. I was like, Wait…” I had PTSD from that.”

Most recently, Saweetie also shared that she was newly single. After much speculation that she and Quavo were broken up, the Bay Area rapper took to Twitter and stated, “I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character,” the Icy Girl wrote. “Presents don’t band aid scares and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”

Saweetie continued saying that she is excited to move forward with her life and has peace in regard to the situation.

“I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”
