Seminude Gunman Kills Four At Waffle House In Tennessee

Roommates, at least four people are dead after a nearly nude gunman opened fire at a Waffle House restaurant near Nashville, Tennessee early Sunday morning.

According to Reuters, there could have been more casualties if it wasn’t for a 29-year-old man who snatched the shooter’s AR-15 assault rifle.

“You had a citizen step up to intervene with an active shooter and that’s what this man did,” Don Aaron, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, said at a news conference . “He is the hero here and no doubt he saved many lives.”

Aaron said the gunman, who was wearing nothing but a green jacket, took off on foot and took the jacket off as he reached a corner not far from the Waffle House. When authorities located the jacket it had an unspecified amount of additional ammunition.

Travis Reinking, 29, of Morton, Ill., was initially named as a person of interest, and the vehicle the gunman arrived in is registered to him.

Police later confirmed that Reinking matched the description of the gunman and was now being looked at as the prime suspect.

“If you see a nude guy walking around, call the police immediately,” Aaron said. “We believe he may be the suspect in this.”
