Sha’Carri Richardson Speaks Out About Not Being Allowed To Compete In The Olympics: “I Know What I Have To Do Moving Forward In My Career”

Sha’Carri Richardson continues to be a topic of discussion following the news that she is no longer allowed to participate in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for marijuana. While people continue to show her support on social media, many have expressed their disdain for the news, and some have even gone as far as calling for a boycott of the Olympics. Sha’Carri shared her perspective about the decision while standing outside an airport, having an impromptu interview with TMZ Wednesday afternoon.

The 21-year-old Dallas native wearing a hoodie and a mask was surprised that she was recognized and asked the reporter how he knew it was her. The reporter verified that the shoes she was wearing, which had her name on them, were the dead giveaway. He then got straight to the question on everyone’s mind, asking, “How are you feeling about everything?” Sha’Carri was humble in her response, stating, “I’m fine. I understand the situation that’s going on. So, I’m accepting of it, and I just know what I have to do moving forward in my career.”

The track star admitted that the news wasn’t too surprising and that she, along with her team, was realistic about the possible outcome, and they all figured that the Olympics would make this decision.

Fans are continuing to stick with Sha’Carri and feel that the media should back off of asking her the same questions for her mental health’s sake. One Roommate commented, “Why do y’all keep asking her the same question? She already spoke about it. Leave this girl alone.” Another commented, “Keepin it a buck though, we should all leave it alone for her own mental health. She is good. She gone be better. 2025 here we come!!”

Roommates, do yall think Sha’Carri should continue to speak out about the situation?
