Skittles Releases Limited Edition Candy Packs Without Their Iconic Rainbow Design In Honor Of Pride Month

Pride Month has just begun and the Skittles brand is already doing its part to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community! For the second year, Skittles has released limited edition ‘Pride Packs’, which have been stripped of their rainbow design in an effort to advocate for everyone celebrating Pride.

The gray packages also come printed with a message saying, “Only one rainbow matters during Pride. Give the rainbow.” Skittles chief marketing officer Sarah Ling said giving up the Skittles rainbow is just one way for the brand to use its platform in allyship.

“Through the return of Skittles Pride Packs, we emphasize our commitment to not only being a great place to work, where all associates can feel seen and accepted, but also our commitment to people in our communities by continuing to shape a world that is connected, caring and celebratory,” Ling said.

The brand also revealed it will be donating $1 per pack purchased to GLAAD, the world’s leading LGBTQ+ media advocacy group.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with GLAAD to support the important work they do year-round,” Ling continued. “Skittles giving up their rainbow means so much more than just removing the colors from our Skittles packs, and we’re excited to use our platform to do our part in driving visibility for the LGBTQ+ community, creating better moments and more smiles.”

The Pride Packs are available for purchase at major retail stores like Walmart, Target and Kroger’s for the entire month of June.
