A viral video shows an NBA YoungBoy lookalike pulling up to NLE Choppas video shoot in Memphis, the rappers hometown. The impersonator was dressed in black skinny jeans, a Gucci hoodie, sunglasses, and a lime green bandana tied around his head. As he approached a crowd of onlookers, many with their phones out recording, NLE Choppa could be seen laughing. When the lookalike got closer, NLE stepped forward and appeared to challenge him to a playful dance battle, breaking out a few moves of his own. The moment ended when the impersonators green bandana fell to the ground, prompting people nearby to point and laugh before the video cut off.
The viral clip quickly sparked reactions across Instagram, with users sharing a mix of jokes and criticism.
While the impersonator continues to trend online, the real NBA YoungBoy has also been making headlines this week for other reasons. In a recent interview with Complex, the rapper explained the meaning behind his album title, Make America Slime Again.
According to NBA YoungBoy, the phrase means, “Follow whatever Trump applying in every way enforce whatever Trumps applying.”
His comments sparked mixed reactions across social media, with many users pushing back on the explanation. The conversation also resurfaced his past legal issues, as the Baton Rouge rapper was previously sentenced to just under two years in prison on gun-related charges before being pardoned by former President Donald Trump in May 2025.
