Social media users are reacting after Tia Mowry recently made a revelation about her former relationship with her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict.
According to Page Six, Mowry’s docuseries, ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act,’ premiered on Friday, October 4. During the episode, Mowry revealed that she “wasn’t allowed” to date until she was 18 years old.
Additionally, Mowry revealed that Hardrict was her first “everything.”
“I met Cory when I turned 20, and I lost my virginity at 25. There, I said it! And then we got married! Boom!” Mowry explained.
Social media users reacted to Mowry’s revelation about her and Hardrict’s romance in The Shade Room’s comment section.
Instagram user @inikkivalentine wrote, “Folks have no idea how hard it is as a woman coming out of a long relationship or marriage that you entered young/inexperienced you literally have to experience life all over again & feel like a kid at first ”
While Instagram user @get_moefit added, “Saved her a lot of heartbreak. Dating does not equate to living. A lot of people are damaged and carrying a lot of emotional baggage because they jumping around. I think its a blessing to have that story but I guess it all depends on your perception.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Mowry and Hardrict finalized their divorce in April 2023 after 14 years of marriage. Since then, the 46-year-old has ventured back into the dating world.
While recently speaking with US Weekly, Mowry explained that she views dating as a way to “explore and experience someone new.”
“It’s [also] about self-discovery. You start to have an understanding of what it is that you want,” Mowry said.
Despite this, Mowry revealed that she recently “put a pause on dating.” The 46-year-old revealed that her childhood acting role on ‘Sister, Sister’ actually impacted her decision.
“I put a little bit of a pause on dating at the moment because you dont really know why someone is dating you,” she explained at the time. “When it becomes very clear on why someone is dating you through their behaviors, its disappointing. Ive realized that some people are attracted because there was some sort of infatuation growing up you know, ‘Oh, this is the girl from ‘Sister, Sister.’ Its like, ‘Nah. I want you to know me and love me when the makeup comes off.'”
