Sony Buys Michael Jackson’s Music Catalog For $750 Million!

Michael Jackson’s estate just made a deal with Sony/ATV’s music publishing that’s  a little shy of a billi!

Michael Jackson had the music business on lock with his insanely lucrative music catalog. He not only had the rights to his mega hits, but also invested in acquiring other artist’s publishing on iconic records.

Back in 1985, Jackson purchased the ATV catalog for a whopping $41.5 million! He knew! It was a smart move indeed and has paid off even after his death.

Sony ATV controls such records as “All You Need Is Love,” New York, New York,” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” to name a few.

Some of Michael’s catalog includes hits from the likes of the Beatles, the Rollings Stones and Taylor Swift. It’s reported the Jackson estate will still own Michael’s master recording of songs he wrote and have a continued stake in EMI Publishing.

Michael was not only an amazing talent but truly a visionary!
