Sources At NBCUniversal Reportedly Considering Tiffany Haddish To Be The New Face Of Daytime TV Following Ellen DeGeneres’ Exit

#Roommates, only hours after Ellen DeGeneres officially announced that she was ending her popular daytime talk show after 19 seasons—executives at NBCUniversal are already eyeing her replacement…and Tiffany Haddish could be the new queen of daytime TV. According to new reports, Tiffany Haddish is at the top of the list of choices to step into Ellen DeGeneres’ shoes and usher in a new era of the daytime talk show format.

@PageSix reports, aside from her acting career, Tiffany Haddish, 40, has had a very successful run filling for Ellen DeGeneres as a guest host—and apparently the executives at NBCUniversal are so pleased with her previous guest-hosting appearances, that they are reportedly considering making her the next daytime talk show host. A senior NBCUniversal executive reportedly said that “Tiffany is a favorite, she has humor and empathy in spades. She’s top of the list to get a daytime show – she’s a fresh voice.”

Tiffany’s personality and charm are also reasons why she’s being considered for the position, specifically her charming demeanor on her current gig as the host of CBS’s “Kids Say The Darndest Things.”  She last filled in for Ellen as recent as last month, with her first guest-hosting spot occurring back in October.

As we previously reported, Ellen DeGeneres broke the news that her long-running, Emmy-winning daytime talk show would officially end in 2022 with its 19th season. In a statement she said, “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged, and as great as this show is, and as fun, as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore. ”

Warner Bros.’ Unscripted TV President Mike Darnell said, “Although all good things must come to an end, you still have hope that truly great things never will.” He continued to call Ellen’s talk show an “absolute phenomenon,” after all of the years the show has spent on-air.
