Stephen Hill, The President of BET’s Programming, Is Leaving The Network

Stephen Hill has played a major role at BET since obtaining his position 18 years ago.

Unfortunately, Hill will now be stepping down from his position at the network.

According to Ebony Magazine, BET’s CEO, Debra Lee made the announcement to the network’s employees during a meeting Wednesday afternoon. She made sure to mention the many successful moments at the network under Hill’s direction.

Some of those moments include the tributes to James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince, as well as Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar’s 2016 BET Awards performance.

He has also contributed to the network’s growth in ratings with shows such as, “Being Mary Jane,” “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” and the most recent New Edition biopic.

Hill’s final day will be Friday, March 31st, and he said to everyone in his goodbye letter, “This Friday, 6,549 days after I took my first step through the doors of BET, I will walk my last one out.”

He continued, “It has been my honor to serve this brand in that span and I am thrilled to have been able to be a member of the teams that ideated and created so many spectacles, moments, memories, and miracles. It’s been fulfilling to be part of huge changes that literally shifted the culture.”

Stephen Hill will definitely be missed at BET.
