T.I. And Tiny Discuss How They Were Able To Rebuild Their Relationship

Last week the Harris’ appeared on “Red Table Talk where they talked about T.I.’s controversial comments about his daughter’s virginity. Now in the second part of their interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, they talked about the issues in their marriage and what led them to almost divorcing.

Nonetheless, they were able to get through the storm, and they are not standing tall as a united front.

During their discussion, Tiny talked about how being dependent on T.I. for many years made it difficult for him to accept her independence once he returned home from jail. She said, “When you have a man that wants to take care of everything, there is something hidden behind that. To me, when a man wants to be your all, then that means you have less of a chance to say ‘I’m moving this way, I’m going this way.’ When a man completely takes control, takes care of you, you don’t have a lot of say because you are dependent on this man.”

Jada admitted to both T.I. and Tiny that she and Will Smith also experienced the same issue in their relationship earlier on in their marriage.

T.I. inserted his thoughts and said, “I understand that in life that all things will change. However, it is way more possible for women to change their minds in the midst of permanent decisions than it is for men.”

When asked what changed his mind and led him back to his wife, he said, “This is where I have had the best times of my life. There are jokes and memories and things that we share that no one else are a part of or involved with.”

He continued, “It’s very rare where you’re able to be married to the best friend you have and the best sex you’ve ever had. So when you have those things, you don’t just toss that away. In any negotiation, any deal, business or otherwise, never get what you deserve until you show you’re willing to walk away.”

When asked what made her want to take divorce off of the table, Tiny said that T.I. started to change and showed that he was willing to work for their relationship.

They also shared that they went to counseling, which really helped in their rebuilding process.
