The #SuperBowlLIII is coming to Atlanta next year, but the Hustle Gang CEO and avid Falcons fan T.I. tells ESPN’s #JemeleHill that he will continue to boycott the NFL next season—especially after the league’s most recent announcement of a policy which requires players to kneel for the anthem, or stay in their locker rooms.
“I think there’s a violation of constitutional rights being implemented to minority players who choose to have a peaceful silent protest,” T.I. said. “It’s really like you want us to shut up and take what we got coming to us in our communities, and that’s just not acceptable and if that’s what you think about us, why should we really spend our money and show our extreme support of your corporation?”
T.I. goes on to urge fans to join him in boycotting, because hitting the NFL’s pockets is the only way to let them know he means business! “We gotta go to the corporations,” T.I. added. “Stop spending our dollars with them until they press the politicians who press the police to do what we need to do until they respect our lives and consider us as equals or else they don’t deserve our dollars.”
Will y’all be boycotting too? 👀
I love my Falcons to Death but… Right is Right… Oppression must be challenged at all costs!!!
Sacrifices must be made for true change to be achieved!!!
Special Thanks to @ATT @jemelehill and @BET #GeniusTalks for the invite. #USorELSE✊🏽 pic.twitter.com/92G92rDQQv
