Tech Companies Experimenting With LSD Claim It Boosts Productivity!

Hey roomies, for all you drugs enthusiasts.. have you guys ever heard of micro dosing? Well, It’s a new form of “therapy”that is gaining popularity amongst professionals in Silicon Valley. A microdose is about a tenth of the normal dose – around 10 micrograms of LSD, or 0.2-0.5 grams of mushrooms and Rick Doblin, the founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, says that the dosages are not high enough to get trippy, rather just enough “to feel a little bit of energy lift, a little bit of insight.”

Rolling Stone met up with a young man who they call Ken to discuss how life has gotten better since he has started microdosing. “Microdosing has helped me come up with some new designs to explore and new ways of thinking,” he said. “You would be surprised at how many people are actually doing it. It’s crazy awesome.” Now, we are in no way encouraging you guys to do drugs, but there may be a method to the madness.

Describing a typical work day to Rolling Stone, Ken spoke of having an “epic time” at the office. “I was making a lot of sales, talking to a lot of people, finding solutions to their technical problems.” This all sounds really fun, but why is there a need for this in the workplace?

Author of The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide, James Fadiman, introduced microdosing to the public back in 2011 during a conference dedicated to psychedelic research. He had presented the results from a survey that his subjects had submitted in favor of microdosing. Many people have come forward about their experiences ever since. Fadiman suspects that LSD use is on the rise, because it’s a better alternative to Adderall with “übersmart twentysomethings” who believe the drug will cause them to be better creators.

What I’d like to know is if they’re microdosing techies in San Francisco with LSD, are they going to stop drug testing other types of workers for marijuana consumption? This only widens the double standard between white collar employees and blue collar employees. Roommates, what do you think of microdosing? Would you opt-in for the drug if you worked with a company that supports it in the name of creativity?
