18-year old Michelle Carter has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly encouraging her boyfriend, Roy Conrad, to kill himself. Text messages have revealed that she even helped to research how to carry everything out.
The boy’s body was found on July 13th, 2014 in his car where Huffington Post reports that “he used a combustion engine to induce carbon monoxide poisoning.” The text messages, obtained by The Huffington post from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, support the allegations of Michelle pressuring the young boy to kill himself. She just reassured him that everyone loves him and that she will never leave him.
“You have to just do it,” she texted him. “You have everything you need. There is no way you can fail. Tonight is the night. It’s now or never.” Messages show that Michelle even got irritated when Roy wanted to back out of it! She said he was making excuses like, ‘oh, it didn’t work because I didn’t tape the tube right or something like that’ just so he wouldn’t have to go through with their plan. Michelle sinisterly talks him out of backing out of it a few times, but in the end, despite Roy wrestling with his emotions, he chose to go through with the silent death.
Roy just wanted to make sure that his family knew that he loved them, so he took his sisters out for ice cream just before he planned to take his life. He said that he was procrastinating because “[He] just [didn’t] know how to leave them, you know.” Emotionless Michelle tells him to lie to them and say he had to go to the store. When he finally let’s her know that he’s leaving, she peps him up telling him, “Okay. You can do this.” According to BroBible.com, “The last message was sent at 6:25 PM. After the exchange, Michelle allegedly left her house and talked to Conrad for 43 minutes. According to court documents, at some point during the call, Conrad got out of the car in fear, but Michelle told him to get back in. His body was found in his pickup truck after his parents reported him missing to police.”
