Family and friends are mourning the death of 21-year old Taemon Blair, whose mysterious death was ruled a suicide by North Carolina Police.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office said Taemon was found hanging in a tractor-trailer he had been driving for his job. He was pronounced dead on the scene, @fox46charlotte reports. Taemon’s cause of death was established as “asphyxia due to hanging”.
However, Taemon’s family is not convinced he took his own life and they are calling for police to take action on Taemon’s behalf.
“We just want him to get justice. That’s all we wan. We just want to find out exactly if somebody did it who did it and why, and we want to open it back up and see,” Taemon’s older brother Dee Smith told Fox 46.
Taemon’s family claims he had no reason to take his own life and they believe that foul play had a part in his death. Social media is not convinced either, as many have taken to Twitter to allege that Taemon may have been “lynched.”
Tweets all over the twitter-sphere run down Taemon’s achievements: Straight A student, West Charlotte High School graduate, soon-to-be father, and truck driver. Those are all honors his family says would have been too good for Taemon to leave behind.
Smith started a GoFundMe campaign to help with the funeral costs for Taemon and his family. So far, they have raised more than $7,000 of their $10,000 goal.
Smith continues to spread the word of his brother’s passing, reiterating that he does not think his brother took his own life.
“This is sooooo devastating for out family. So unexpected!,” he wrote. “It’s just a lot of unanswered questions for them to rule it a suicide and just sweep it under the rug like it was nothing.”
We urge you to keep the family and friends of Taemon Blair in your prayers, Roomies.
