The Family Of Breonna Taylor Is Demanding For The Officers Involved In Her Death To Be Fired And Charged!

Earlier this month marked two months since Breonna Taylor was killed by officers inside of her Louisville, KY home. Her family and community are continuing the fight until justice is finally served. They are now calling for the officers involved in the shooting to be fired and charged.

The family has upcoming events that are scheduled in Louisville, KY as they push forward with trying to get officers Johnathan Mattingly, Myles Cosgrove and Brett Hankinson fired and charged for her death, which took place back in March.

As we previously reported, earlier this month Breonna’s family filed a lawsuit in their seek for justice. In the lawsuit it stated that Breonna and her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker thought they were being burglarized, and in defense, Kenneth fired his registered gun. The lawsuit claims that officers fired their guns and fatally shot Breonna. The family alleges that the officers were wearing plain clothes and did not identify themselves before entering the apartment.

According to the lawsuit, the officers were looking for someone else who had already been in police custody during the time of the incident.

The officers responsible for her death were placed on administrative reassignment, and Kenneth was charged with assault and attempted murder on a police officer.

According to the New York Times, on Friday, prosecutors announced that they were dropping the charges against Kenneth. Their announcement came the day after the Federal Bureau of Investigation said they opened an investigation into the shooting.
