The Weeknd Responds The “Climax” Drama—Meanwhile Usher Throws A Little Bit More Shade At His Claims

Roommates, the Internet is still going absolutely nuts following The Weeknd’s claims that Usher stole his style on his hit song “Climax.” Most fans quickly agreed that The Weeknd needed to pump his brakes and show some respect—well, he has finally responded and his comments likely won’t satisfy fans.

Any given day on social media you can find some celebrity drama brewing up, however the recent flare up between R&B legend Usher and The Weeknd is likely one that most people didn’t see coming.

In a recent interview, The Weeknd boldly claimed that Usher practically stole his style for Usher’s multi-platinum 2012 single “Climax”:

“House of Balloons literally changed the sound of pop music before my eyes. I heard ‘Climax,’ that [2012] Usher song, and was like, ‘Holy f**k, that’s a Weeknd song.’ It was very flattering, and I knew I was doing something right, but I also got angry. But the older I got, I realized it’s a good thing.”

Social media and Usher’s fans weren’t having it and to show support for him they started the #ClimaxChallenge with fans singing their own renditions of the song—and Usher also joined in and showed just how vocally gifted he is by singing the song lying down.

After all of that The Weeknd responded with this:

“Of course media blows things out of proportion and takes things out of context. Usher is a King and always an inspiration so it was flattering to hear what him and Diplo did on climax. XO.”

Meanwhile, Usher threw one last subliminal message his way and tweeted, “Have you ever seen the moon bark back at the dog?” Whew chile!
