VIDEO: New York Woman Walks Out On Date Who Refused To Pay $3 For Slice Of Cheese On His Burger

A New York woman has gone viral after walking out on her date who refused to pay $3.00 for a slice of cheese on his hamburger, and the internet is having a field day.

The woman, who goes by Dafna Diamant on TikTok, was having dinner with a man she met on the dating app Hinge and things were going well enough, that is until he told the waitress he didn’t want cheese on his burger upon learning it cost a few additional dollars.

Woman Ditches “Cheap” Date After He Refused To Add $3 Cheese To His Burger

Moments later, a quietly irate Dafna said she excused herself to use the restroom, but in actuality, she went and paid the bill herself, before leaving the restaurant entirely without saying goodbye.

Instead, she reportedly texted him a message that read:

“The check is taken care of. You should have gotten the cheese.”

Still heated from the cheese refusal, Dafna took to TikTok on her walk home. After all, the bill came out to only $55, she said.

But the responses she received were not one of sympathy or understanding from the now-viral clip, which has been viewed almost six million times as of Monday.

Most commenters didn’t agree with her gripe at her date’s apparent cheapness, with many claiming the man had a “lucky escape.”

Dafna didn’t reveal why the date’s refusal to pay $3 for cheese on his burger irked her so much, only adding that she was exhausted by “dating in your 20s.”

Date “Seemed Very Nice,” “Not A Catfish” Woman Says Despite Leaving Him At Restaurant

In fact, by her own admission, he “seemed very nice” and noted he was “not a catfish.”

“Why am I doing this to myself?” she began.

“So we schedule to go to dinner, we’re sitting at the restaurant and he seems very nice. Not a catfish.”

Woman Recalls “Bad” Date In Now-Viral TikTok Rant, Says She Asked To Use Bathroom To Escape

She continued: “Things are going well, and the waitress comes over, she wants to take our order.”

Dafna said she ordered branzino – a Mediterranean sea bass – while her date opted for the hamburger, prompting the waitress to inquire about adding cheese.

“He asked, ‘Is this gonna be extra?’

And she says, ‘Yes it’s $3.00 extra.’ He said, ‘OK never mind.’”

“I’m like what the actual f***? I’m like OK, I’m hungry I’m gonna get my branzino and see what happens.”

That’s when the date reportedly griped about having “to pay extra for everything these days, and I’m like, ‘Yeah. It’s New York City.’”

After the two finished their meals, Dafna told her date she needed to go to the bathroom, which in reality was a rouse to quietly escape.

“I took my purse and I went to the waitress and was like, ‘Hey I just want to pay the bill.’ I just paid and walked out of the restaurant.”

She went on to say: “So I texted him and said, ‘The check is taken care of, you should have gotten the cheese.’

“Then I blocked him,” Dafna said.

Social Media Reacts To Overreaction: “Is She Insane?”

Social media naturally had a field day with her overreaction, with one even asking if she’s “insane.”

“I thinkkkkkk she overreacted lol. It’s not like he wasn’t gonna pay for the meal … this is principle. Lol paying $3 for cheese on a burger is crazy to me,” one person tweeted.

Another commenter wrote “I just watched this TikTok where this woman went on a Hinge date and the waitress said it’s a $3 charge to add a slice of cheese to his burger, he declined. So she gets up, pays the bill and ditches him because she thought he was cheap.. Wtf? She’s insane right? Or am I crazy.”

“Seems like she did him favor. They don’t seem compatible.”

What do you say, Roomies? Was she right for assuming her date was cheap or did she overreact?
