Okay Auntie, we see you! TSR Fam, it looks like Miss Tina Knowles may be stepping into her soft girl era and we are so here for it! After experiencing divorce and a breast cancer scare, she’s stepping back into the dating game and living life.
It’s been nearly two years since her split from actor Richard Lawson, whom she married back in 2015. In a new interview with PEOPLE, the 71-year-old muva of Beyonc and Solange reveals shes not only doing just fine shes dating again!
“I am spending time with a friend,” Tina shared with a smile, calling her mystery man a “very nice gentleman.”
The designer also gets real in her upcoming memoir, ‘Matriarch,’ where she opens up for the first time about the ups and downs of love and marriage. While she didnt spill too much tea on why her marriage to Lawson ended, she did make it clear it came from a place of peace, not pettiness.
“Love is not a competition or mired in jealousy,” she writes. “I made the decision to divorce with a heavy heart but without malice.”
That said, Tina didnt hold back when reflecting on her first marriage to Mathew Knowles, father to her iconic daughters. In ‘Matriarch,’ she details the pain of staying through years of infidelity and difficulties of walking away after 31 years. Now? She’s living her best life, saying, “Im making the best of every day I have left in this life.” And honestly, we love this for her.
Tina is getting love from fans after revealing shes back in the dating game. The internet applauds her for embracing life and love after divorce. Fans ran to People’s TikTok comment section to show some love.

Tina Knowles also recently opened up about her private battle with breast cancer for the first time. The mother revealed to Gayle King, in a ‘CBS Mornings’ interview, that she missed a mammogram appointment during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and forgot to reschedule it until last year. It was during that rescheduled appointment that her doctors discovered two tumorsone benign and the other Stage 1 cancer. Further in the CBS Mornings interview, she mentioned that the diagnosis had her in “disbelief.” Fortunately, the cancer was detected early, and Tinas journey has turned into a powerful story of survival and hope.
In a separate PEOPLE interview, Tina reflected on how her daughters, Beyonc and Solange, reacted to her diagnosis. She said Beyonc stayed positive and immediately focused on tackling the situation with precision. While Solange simply said, “Mom, we are going to take care of this.”
Today, Tina is cancer-free and incredibly grateful for the early detection. At first, Tina struggled with whether to include her health journey in the memoir, admitting shes a very private person. Ultimately, she chose to share it to encourage other women to prioritize their health and get checked. “I want to give people hope,” she shared, emphasizing that early detection saved her life.
