Tina Knowles Speaks On Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’ Album & Her Experience With Infidelity

Tina Knowles sat down with ABC13 news Houston to talk about the meaning behind Beyoncé’s Lemonade album. Now we’ve heard many rumors that the album is about Jay-Z, and others saying it’s not and at this point most have given up trying to figure out who its truly about…until now.

According to Tina, Beyoncé’s album is about the experiences that every woman can relate too.

“It could be about anyone’s marriage,” Tina said in her interview with ABC 13 Houston. “I think that everybody at one time or another has been betrayed and lied to and it’s about the pain.”

The album is supposed to help woman deal with problems within their marriage and help them pick up the pieces and move on.

“It’s about the healing process–and it’s about how do you get past that and move on,” she says. “People make it all about the cheating and betrayal and, yes, that’s a part of it because that is something you have to heal from. If you really listen to the poetry, it is one of hope and redemption and hopefully that can be healing for people.”

Tina even dished about how Bey and Solange was her support system when she was going through her divorce with her husband of 33 years, Matthew Knowles, after he stepped out on her multiple times and ended up having a baby by another woman.

“I remember my first little pity part and I called them crying and you know, they all came,” she said. “We had a slumber party, we watched old movies all night and ate ice cream–it was very healing.”
