Tisha Campbell Opens Up About Forgiving & Reconnecting With Martin Lawrence Following Her 1997 Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Him

Tisha Campbell is showing the power of forgiveness! As fans wait to see the upcoming ‘Martin’ 30th-anniversary reunion, she briefly touched on her current relationship with Martin Lawrence. During a recent interview with Gayle King on ‘Good Morning America’ Gayle asked how the former co-stars were able to move past Tisha’s 1997 sexual harassment lawsuit against Martin. ”

When the show ended, there was tension between you and Martin, you had filed a lawsuit against him, and he said it wasn’t true. How were you able to get back on track with him because clearly, you guys worked it out,” Gayle questioned. Tisha wearing an orange suit, responded, “We worked really hard to reconnect and to forgive. This reunion is about a celebration of everything that we did, everything that we accomplished, and our growth as human beings. So we concentrated mostly on that.

If you’re unfamiliar with the lawsuit, let us bring you up to speed! In 1997 Tisha filed a sexual harassment lawsuit claiming there was repeated and escalating sexual harassment, sexual battery, verbal abuse, and related threats. In December 2020, Martin spoke out about the suit, denying any wrongdoings and sharing it resulted in the actor walking away from the popular sitcom after five seasons, according to Essence.

“Yeah, because none of that was true. It was all a lot of bulls**t and, just whoever’s side it was, it was bulls–t.” He continued, “We don’t need to talk about something that just didn’t happen. So I just decided to walk away from the show. I just decided to end it. People said that I got canceled, but that wasn’t the case. I decided to just leave the show.”

Reports show that the suit was settled out of court. Roomies, what are your thought on the two making amends?!
