After 12 years together and eight married, Tina Lawson is saying goodbye to her relationship with Richard Lawson.
The mother of Beyonc and Solange filed for divorce from the actor on Wednesday (Jul. 26), citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
TMZ first reported the story. Tina wasted no time in bringing their split to the courthouse. According to the outlet, the estranged Mrs. Lawson lists their separation date as July 25–one day before filing the divorce documents.
And it seems like Lawson is interested in parting ways without touching each other’s coins. The divorce documents reportedly ask the judge to waive spousal support for either party, per TMZ.
Additionally, Tina wants her name restored to Celestine Knowles rather than keep Celestine Lawson.
As mentioned, the Lawsons have shared a love story for over a decade. Tina and Richard married in April 2015 in Newport Beach, California. The couple held their ceremony aboard a yacht just two years after they started dating in 2013, per PEOPLE.
However, the estranged couple hasn’t released a public statement about their split, including related posts on social media. Meanwhile, the soonest Richard is featured on her Instagram feed is amid her March posts.
“Never been one to waste some good light!!! so we had to sneak a picture at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party last night with my boo. @mrrichardlawson,” T. Lawson wrote in her caption.
Meanwhile, Richard’s latest post featuring his estranged wife is dated December 2022. It’s a fan-made painting of Richard painting Tina.
Further down his profile, Richard has a family photo featuring Tina, Beyonc, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy with an October 2022 post date.
This is Tina Lawson’s second divorce. In 2011, the fashion designer and Matthew Knowles–father to her only two children–finalized their divorce.
