‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ fans know Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss’ mother, Joyce Jones, haven’t always seen eye to eye! Their rocky relationship brought plenty of drama over the years. But now that he and Kandi are divorced, Todd is keeping it all the way real about where things stand with Mama Joyce. And chileeee, he didn’t hold back one bit while reflecting on their tense history and new dynamic.
During a recent interview with Page Six, Todd Tucker spoke about navigating life after his split from Kandi Burruss. Todd said that when they first called it quits, he spent a lot of time alone. He admitted that he went through a lot of dark times and kept thinking about what their separation would mean for their family.
“A lot time and a lot of time in my head, thinking […] trying to figure out, what did I just do? what just happened. Did I lose my family?” Todd said.
Todd also spoke about leaving his drama with Mama Joyce behind in the past. He said it feels like “a weight lifted off his shoulders,” now that she’s no longer directly involved in his life. Tucker also explained that while fans watched their relationship play out on television, that same energy was kept off camera. Despite all of the friction, Todd said he still tried to get on her good side. He knew Mama Joyce didn’t like him, but that never stopped him from trying to win her over.Furthermore, Todd made it clear that even with their past, there’s no bad blood on his end.“That’s still my kids grandma and I want them to have a great relationship, but I’m okay where I’m at now.”
Todd has been spilling plenty of tea about his family dynamics while promoting his new series, ‘Til Divorce Do Us Part.’ Recently, while chopping it up with Big Tigger on ‘The Morning Show,’ Tucker opened up about how his kids have been handling his divorce from Kandi. Tucker shared that Kandi’s daughter Riley Burruss has made it clear she wants to see them work it out. He recalled Riley pulling him to the side during a party his daughter Kaela hosted at his New Jersey home.She was like, Go get my mom back, and it was one of those moments where you cant even get the words out.”
