Roomies, Trick Daddy has reacted after receiving backlash for recently saying he doesn’t identify as African American.
As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this week, a clip surfaced of Trick Daddy telling his social media followers, “Im trying to figure out how ‘Afro’ get in front of my motherf*****g [inaudible].”
In the clip, Trick said he’s never been to Africa and “ain’t thinking about going there.” Despite this, the rapper explained that he knows Africa is a beautiful place and the “motherland.” However, it’s not the land of his mother, grandmother or ancestors.
“That aint their land. Americas real, true land is right here in the U.S. soil,” he said.
Then, on Tuesday, November 12, The Shade Room obtained another clip from @livebitez of Trick Daddy doubling down on his sentiments.
“My grandmother ain’t never tell me not one motherf******g story about Africa. I don’t know nothing about Africa all I know is the only African people I run into, they think they better than us over he,” Trick said. “So what you [inaudible] worried about me saying that I’m not African? I’m just American! What is wrong with you n****s?!”
In the clip, Trick also appeared to reference statements shared on the ‘Rickey Smiley Morning Show‘ in response to his viral stance. Swipe below to see Trick’s additional thoughts and the sentiments shared on the radio show.
