Triple Shooting In Midtown Atlanta Leaves Two People Dead And One Recovering From Injuries—Female Suspect Arrested At Atlanta Airport

A female suspect after she went on an alleged shooting spree earlier this afternoon in the upscale neighborhood of Midtown Atlanta at the condos on 1280 West Peachtree Street. Police arrested Raissa Kengne at the Atlanta airport.

Kengne reportedly shot three people, tragically leaving two of them dead, as an intense search in Midtown Atlanta by the local police department resulted in her prompt arrest.

11Alive shared footage of the moment Kengne was apprehended and arrested by Atlanta PD following the triple shooting.

At this time, the woman’s charges have not been announced, as two of her three victims have tragically passed away. The victims have been identified as 60-year-old Michael Shinners and 41-year-old Wesley Freeman.

The third shooting victim is currently recovering at a local hospital.

Speaking about today’s shocking and deadly incident, Atlanta Police Department Interim Chief Darin Schierbaum, revealed that the shooting was likely a targeted attack.

“By the information that currently available to us now, we do not believe these were random acts of violence. We do believe the individuals were likely targeted who were harmed today.”

Chief Schierbaum also added that it didn’t take long for them to trace the Midtown Atlanta shooting to a single female suspect.

“The lookout for both of the shooters, we found out quickly was the same person, it was a female matching the same description that scene in this area,” he said.

Additionally, witnesses at the scene of the 1280 West Peachtree condos say that they heard three gunshots on the property that were coming from the building’s management office.

Footage of the woman was captured via surveillance cameras along the property.
