Welp, Trump may have just admitted defeat in the ongoing process to his impeachment. In a recent meeting with reporters at the White House, he admitted that the Democrats have the voting power to ensure that impeaching him becomes a reality.
Since the announcement a few weeks ago by Nancy Pelosi that formal impeachment proceedings against Trump were moving forward, he has been melting down in interviews and social media like never before…and now we know why. According to @USNews, Trump has officially come to the realization that his impeachment could very well happen and sooner than he thought.
While speaking to representatives from the media at the White House, he reportedly said that the House Democrats “unfortunately have the votes” needed to impeach him, but he’s confident that the Republicans who control the Senate will acquit him thus making the impeachment impossible to go through.
Trump wasn’t done with his comments, as he went on to bash the Democrats and also discuss what he feels is unfair treatment:
“They’ve taken away our rights. They’re all in line. Because even though many of them don’t want to vote, they have no choice. They have to follow their leadership. And then we’ll get it to the Senate, and we’re going to win. We’ve been treated very unfairly, very different from anybody else.”
Representative Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., a leader of House Democrats, had this to say regarding Trump’s corruption, abuse of power and shady dealings with the Ukraine:
“The evidence of wrongdoing by Donald Trump is hiding in plain sight….the administration, without justification, withheld $391 million in military aid from a vulnerable Ukraine. The president then pressured a foreign leader to interfere in the 2020 elections and target an American citizen for political gain. That is textbook abuse of power.”
Trump’s comments are completely different now than they were a few weeks ago when all the impeach talk began…reality seems to be setting it.
