TSR Foodies: Wayment! A Recall On 86 Tons Of Boston Market Frozen Meals Is In Effect After Complaints Of Glass And Plastic

Roommates, if you love a quick and easy frozen meal, you might want to take Boston Market off of your shopping list and out of your freezer.
The U.S Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced about 86 tons worth of Boston Market’s boneless pork rib patties have been recalled because of consumer’s finding pieces of glass or hard plastic in their meal.
According to CNN, the affected meals were shipped to retail locations nationwide as well as to a Department of Defense facility in Tuscon, Arizona and have been ruled dangerous for consumption.
The meals are distributed by Bellisio Foods, a Ohio-based manufacturer. Due to the large amount of patties distributed and the severity of contamination, the USDA classifies this as a Class I recall.
“There is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death,” said the USDA in a news release.
Consumers who have already purchased the frozen meals, dated best by December 2019 to February 2020, are urged not to eat them. The USDA says that no injuries or serious illness have been reported yet.
“There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injuries due to consumption of these products,” their statement read. “Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”
Glass and plastic are only the most recent foreign objects to be found in people’s foods, y’all. In January, Perdue recalled almost 70,000 pounds of chicken nuggets after consumers found wood in them, and the company recalled some nuggets contaminated with plastic in 2016 as well.
I know the saying goes “be careful what you wish for” but, you might want to be careful what you eat ,Roommates!
