Acts of kindness definitely go a long way, and Darius Hinkle is still smiling after a group of nurses reportedly bonded him out of jail. Hinkle was reportedly arrested for breaking multiple traffic laws while rushing his 1-year-old daughter to the Touchette Regional Hospital in Illinois.
According to fox 2 now, Hinkle admitted he does not have a driver’s license and was driving at over 100 mph to get to the hospital after he found his daughter choking on a penny.
“The first thing in my mind was to get her to the hospital,” he said. “That’s my daughter and I wouldn’t want anything to happen to her.”
But when he and his wife arrived at the hospital, Hinkle recalls more than a handful of police officers were waiting for him. He was taken into custody.
“I gout out, put my hands up, and I yelled and told the police my baby his choking,” Hinkle said.
Hinkle’s daughter was treated at the hospital and released into his wife’s custody, who made her way to the jail where he was being held. When she arrived, she saw a woman who she did not recognize paying Hinkle’s bond, and thats when she learned a group of nurses chipped in to help her husband out.
“There’s nothing I could do to thank them,” she said. “I just couldn’t thank them enough.”
The hospital confirmed that the nurses bonded Hinkle out, although they did not disclose the amount paid.
“They were helpful and they were there for us from the moment we got to he hospital,” Hinkle’s wife said. “We really can’t thank them enough.”
