Yesterday it was reported that the body of Alexis Crawford, a student attending Clark Atlanta University was found after she was reported missing on October 30th.
According to WSBTV, both of the suspects that are accused of murdering her are now in police custody. Authorities confirmed that they received a warrant and arrested Jordyn Jones, 21, who was Alexis’ roommate, and she has been charged with malice murder. She was taken to Fulton County jail for booking.
Her boyfriend, Barron Brantley, who was also charged with Alexis’ death was charged Friday night. Barron reportedly waived his court appearance Saturday morning and Jordyn is scheduled to appear in court Monday at 11am.
As previously reported, Alexis had been missing for a week before investigators found her body in DeKalb County. The medical examiner has determined that her death was caused by asphyxiation, which is suffocation.
On October 27th, Alexis filed a police report with the Atlanta Police Department stating that her roommate’s boyfriend had forced himself on her. She claimed that Barron had kissed and touched her against her will, and she, unfortunately, went missing after.
During a press conference on Friday, a press conference was held where Police Chief Erika Shields said, “I am so sorry we could not provide a better ending.”
