TSR Updatez: Usher is off the hook in a sexual assault case after his accuser filed documents today to drop the case.
People remember when Quantasia Sharpton made those claims and now sis wants the case dismissed. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Sharpton made it official today through her attorney Lisa Bloom.
It was not immediately clear if her dropping the case is a result of a settlement or if Sharpton just decided she no longer wanted to pursue the charges.
But keep in mind, Sharpton is not the only person to come forward and accuse Usher of sexual misconduct. She, along with a Jane Doe and a John Doe, sued Usher claiming they all had sexual relations with him.
They all claimed he risked their health by not telling him about his alleged diagnosis of herpes.
More specifically, Sharpton alleged that she and Usher had sex after a performance of his in Atlantic City on her birthday. Usher has denied all of Sharpton’s allegations and maintained that she is lying.
As for the unnamed woman, Usher recently went to court to demand she be sanctioned at the cost of $2,500. Usher, in turn, accused her of refusing to answer personal questions, including ones involving her sexual history, during her deposition.
Usher’s team was reportedly trying to challenge her claim that he gave her an STD. He asked the judge to order the woman to answer the questions and to sanction her for not answering all the questions, even though her lawyer repeatedly instructed her to not answer, saying it was an invasion of her privacy.
That specific case is scheduled to head to trial early next year.
The dismissal of Sharpton’s case came a day before her and Usher’s lawyers were supposed to be in court for a status on that case.
We’ll keep you posted on any updates, Roommates.
