#TSRCutTheFoolery: Man Sues Popeyes For Running Out Of Chicken Sandwiches

Whew chile, ya’ll are really taking this Popeyes chicken sandwich craze to new heights! While many fans of the hugely popular sandwich were disappointed to learn that it’s currently sold out nationwide—one man has recently taken things to a new level courtesy of a lawsuit.

According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution (@ajc,) Craig Barr, of East Ridge, Tennessee, is apparently so upset that Popeyes no longer has anymore chicken sandwiches that he’s gone so far as to file an official lawsuit…yes, you read that right.

In a court summons filed earlier this week, Barr states that he’s suing Popeyes for “false advertising, deceptive business practices by entity to public. Countless time wasted driving to and from Popeyes. No chicken sandwich. Was told to come back this day- still no sandwich.”

Despite the sandwich currently being unavailable, Popeyes has promised that it will definitely be back, but that’s not good enough for Barr to drop his lawsuit.

He had this to say about the chicken sandwich’s eventual return:

“I can’t get happy; I have this sandwich on my mind. I can’t think straight. It just consumes you.”

Barr also explained that he was making regular trips to three local Popeyes locations to get his hands on the sandwich. During one of these trips a tire blew out on his car, causing a cracked rim totaling $1,500.

He later revealed that he was so desperate to have the chicken sandwich that he answered a Craigslist ad in which a man said he knew a Popeyes employee and could get him a chicken sandwich for $25. Barr claims he met up with the man behind a Popeyes, gave him the money, but that the man left and he got scammed.

Barr is asking for $5,000 and his court date is set for October 28th.

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
