#TSRPositiveImages: Baltimore Artist Installs Interactive Breast Cancer Mural

Hey Roommates, let’s switch up the tempo and get into some positivity — some good in the ‘hood! Let me tell y’all about visual artist @kidballoon who used his talents for a platform to show his support for those affected by Breast Cancer.

The mural, which he calls The Warrior Wall is more than your traditional mural — he made it interactive by using chalkboard paint so that members of the community and Baltimore visitors can pay homage to their loved ones at any time!

The day he painted the mural, the community came out to show support. Before the day ended, they released balloons in honor of everyone affected by the disease.

He tells us the wall was inspired by his aunt.

“My aunt had it and I wanted to pay homage to everyone affected by it,” he told us. “To show they are not alone in this battle.”

If you’re in Baltimore and would like to experience the Warrior Wall, you can find it at the Graffiti Alley which is located by North Avenue and Howard Street.

We want to encourage everyone to stay on top of their health — especially as it relates to breast cancer prevention. Remember, breast cancer prevention begins with YOU! Be sure to make form healthy habits — like limiting your alcohol intake, remaining physically active. It’s wise to regularly get a mammogram screening.  Learn more about mammogram screenings here!
