#TSRPositiveImages: The Cast And Crew of ‘Dear White People’ Create A College Scholarship In Honor of Jordan Edwards

Last year 15-year-old Jordan Edwards was fatally shot by an officer in Balch Springs, TX while riding in the front seat of a vehicle while leaving a party. The day before Edwards’ death, the highly anticipated series “Dear White People,” premiered on Netflix.

A little under a year since Edwards’ tragic death, the cast and crew of “Dear White People,” have come together to form a scholarship fund in his honor.

On Monday, Logan Browning, the show’s leading actress took to social media to announce the scholarship fund.

“To honor his life, our cast and crew formed a scholarship fund in his name,” she said. “His dream will live on through another deserving student, and #JordanEdwards will live on as more than just a hashtag. We welcome you to be a part of building his legacy at TheJordanEdwardsMemorialScholarship.com

Edwards dreamed of attending The University of Alabama to play football. Therefore, the scholarship will “promote the education of deserving undergraduate students,” who enroll full time at The University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.”

It’s amazing to see what the cast and crew of “Dear White People” have done to keep Jordan Edward’s legacy alive.
