#TSRPositiveImages: Jay-Z’s Foundation Is Set To Take Students On A HBCU College Tour

Jay-Z’s foundation, The Shawn Carter Foundation is gearing up for an HBCU College Tour, which is set to visit 11 historically black colleges and universities. The tour, which is presented by Toyota, will visit schools from Washington, D.C. to Atlanta, GA.

According to Vibe Magazine, a select group of high-performing students will be presented with the chance to meet with college admissions counselors and former Shawn Carter Foundation scholars.

Aside from that, the foundation has also invited over 125 schools in the New York/ New Jersey area to participate in some of the college prep workshops that will lead up to the tour. In September, administrator-selected students will receive weekend ACT/SAT prep sessions that will also touch on resume skills and dressing for success.

On Thursday, the college tour is reportedly scheduled to kick off on the campus of Howard University where Gloria Carter, the president of the foundation, will be joined by 93.9 WKYS radio personality Angie Ange and Creative Writing M.F.A. Candidate Candice Wong, who are both Howard University alumni.

The Carter’s are not new to showing love to HBCU’s. Beyoncé recently dropped her Netflix film “Homecoming” which covered her 2018 Coachella performance where she showed her appreciation for historically black colleges and universities.
