#TSRPositiveImages: Michael Jordan Hands Out Thanksgiving Meals To Hurricane Florence Victims

Michael Jordan returned to his hometown of Wilmington, NC to spread some holiday cheer and hand out Thanksgiving meals to Hurricane Florence victims.

According to ESPN, Jordan handed out the Thanksgiving dinners at a home improvement store, and then later made a visit to the Boys & Girls Club where he also handed out sneakers.

Back in September, the basketball legend made a $2 million donation to hurricane victims. He donated $1 million each to the Red Cross and the Foundation for the Carolinas Hurricane Florence Response Fund.

He said, “You really want to trust that money goes to the right people, and when you see it goes to the right people, it makes me feel good that I did the right thing.”

Jordan was able to meet with some of the victims that his donation helped benefit.

Stephanie Parker and her family are just some of the many people that were affected by the hurricane. She said, “At first it was really, really hard to realize that you lost everything. But people like Michael Jordan donating to the Red Cross and donating to people who have gone through what we’ve gone through is an incredible blessing. We are so very, very thankful.”

Michael Jordan has said he would continue to monitor the hurricane recovery efforts and would consider partnering with other organizations to help improve living conditions for residents.
