#TSRSports: OKC Reportedly Trades Russell Westbrook To The Rockets For Chris Paul

The NBA off-season continues to become more interesting as the days go by. In today’s latest news, it is being reported that OKC Thunder has agreed to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul.

According to ESPN, the OKC have agreed to trade Westbrook to Houston, where he will be reunited with James Harden. In return, the Rockets will send Chris Paul and two protected first-round picks (2024 and 2026) and two pick swaps (2021 and 2025) to the Thunder.

A league source reportedly said that this is the deal that both Westbrook and Harden were “enthusiastic” about. The Thunder’s GM Sam Presti reportedly worked with Westbrook and his agent to get the deal done.

Tilman Fertitta, the owner of the Rockets reportedly spoke with Fox 26 in Houston about the trade and said, “We’re excited to have Russell Westbrook. I would watch him play for Oklahoma City and he’s so athletic. At the same time, this franchise just had the two years with the most wins it’s ever had in consecutive years and we wouldn’t have accomplished that without Chris Paul. Chris Paul is unbelievable and he’s gonna be sadly missed.”

With Paul George’s recent trade to the Clippers, Westbrook and his agent, Thad Foucher reportedly worked with OKC on an “agreeable path forward” for Westbrook’s future. The team wanted to accommodate Westbrook but also wanted to find a trade fit to rebuild their team.

Roommates, what are your thoughts?
