#TSRSports: Warriors Co-Chairman Joe Lacob Releases A Statement To Thank Kevin Durant And Says No Player On Golden State Will Wear The No. 35 Jersey Again

By now, you all know Kevin Durant is expected to take his talents to Brooklyn and become the newest member of the Nets.

On Monday, Joe Lacob, the co-chairman and CEO of the Golden State Warriors released a statement thanking KD for all that he has done for the Warriors, and also made a promise that would honor the work Kevin has done while he was a member of Golden State.

In his statement, Joe said, “Three years ago, we were thrilled with the arrival of Kevin Durant, a transformative NBA player and one of the best to ever play the game. He provided our fans and franchise with numerous highlights during his stay here—two NBA championships, two NBA Finals MVPs, three trips to the Finals, unparalleled efficiency—and carried himself with class and dignity both on and off the court.”

As he continued to thank Kevin, he acknowledged the new chapter in his career and said that no other player would wear the No. 35 jersey while he remains co-chairman.

“As long as I am Co-Chairman of this team, no player will ever wear #35 for the Warriors again,” said Joe.

As many of you know KD joined the Warriors after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder back in 2016. While on the team he was able to become an NBA Champion twice and also awarded the NBA Finals MVP.

This past season, the Warriors went to the finals once again, and as we previously reported, KD injured himself during Game 5. The team ultimately lost to the Toronto Raptors ending their winning streak.
