#TSRTakeAMoment: Former NFL Player Vincent Johnson Found Deceased In Hotel

On Monday, former NFL player Vincent Jackson was found deceased.

The former Buccaneers and Chargers wide receiver checked into the Homewood Suites on January 11th and had been staying there since then, @wfla reports.

He was reported missing on February 10th. A couple of days later, authorities located Jackson at the hotel and spoke with him. Once his well-being was assessed, the missing persons case was canceled.

Jackson was later found by a housekeeper at the hotel, two days later.

“My heart aches for the many loved ones Vincent Jackson leaves behind, from his wife and children to the Buccaneers nation that adored him,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “Mr. Jackson was a devoted man who put his family and community above everything else.”

According to authorities, no trauma was found. The cause of death has yet to be determined. Many remembered the player on social media.

ESPN co-host Field Yates tweeted, “While many will remember Vincent Jackson as a three-time Pro Bowl WR that had many great on-field moments for the Chargers and Bucs, he made a massive last impact off the field too. His foundation @JIA83Foundation did great work to assist military families. RIP.”

He continued, “And on the field, what made Vincent Jackson so special was he was a vertical receiver that a QB could trust to always make a play in a contested catch situation. We so it saw often with him and Philip Rivers.”

The 38-year-old was a three-time Pro Bowler and played 12 seasons in the NFL from 2005-16. It’s also reported that the former NFL player recorded six 1,000-yard receiving campaigns and tallied 540 catches for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns over the course of his career, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Please continue to keep his family in your prayers, Roomies.
