TSRTech: Apple Introduces iPhones And A New Watch

Looks like our phones might start acting up again, #Roomies.

#Apple has just announced a new set of #iPhones. The #iPhoneXS is the newest upgrade to the iPhone X model. The phone will come in different sizes and has three finishes: gold, silver and space gray, according to @techcrunch.

Before I go into detail about what makes this new phone different, chile that pricing is something else. The new phones start at $999 for the 5.8-inch iPhone XS and $1,449 for the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max.

The design of the phone isn’t much different, but the Apple team upgraded the dust and water resistance of the new phone. The new phone has water resistance up to 2 meters deep for several minutes and officials say they tested the phone in many liquids, including orange juice, tea, wine and beer.

As far as the camera, the XS features a 12-megapixel wide camera. On the front side of the phone, there’s a 7-megapixel camera.

With this phone, Apple is debuting dual-SIM support for the XS phones. This means there will be space for a physical SIM slot but Apple is also giving users the option for a complimentary eSIM card, or electronic slim card. The dual-SIM support allows a user to have two phone numbers on a single phone.

Now if you’re still in the iPhone market but you’re not trying to drop a stack for the XS phones, Apple is selling an iPhone XR model for about $799. The phone has a 6.1-inch LCD screen and will come in a variety of colors including black, white, blue, coral and red. This phone will not have a home button and is activated by swiping, according to @CNN.

The iPhone XR only has one camera, a 12-pixel wide-angle camera, but Apple added a portrait feature that is similar to the dual camera devices.

Apple also still sells the iPhone 7 and 8 models. The iPhone 7 starts at $449 and the iPhone 8 starts at $599.

Pre-orders for the new XS phones begin on Friday and the products will ship on September 21st. The phones will also be available in store on the 21st.

Finally, there’s the new watch. Apple boasted an upgrade to its 3-year-old smartwatch called the Apple Watch Series 4. The new watch has a 30 percent larger edge-to-edge display and curved corners. It’s also slightly thinner and has better reception, thanks to a new processor. The new watch is going for $499.

Apple is launching a recycling program called GiveBack which allows Apple to buy customers’ old devices if it’s in good condition or recycle them for free if the phones are not usable.

#Roommates, are you upgrading your phones or watches? Let us know!
