#TSRUpdatez: City Of Chicago Announces It’s Suing Jussie Smollett For $130K For Attack Investigation

The city of #Chicago just hit #JussieSmollett with a lawsuit, asking for a little more than $130,000 to recover the costs of investigating his alleged attack, which the city claims was staged.

According to @tmz_tv, the lawsuit claims that Jussie and Abel Osundairo, one of the brothers accused by police of staging Jussie’s attack, had been friends since 2017. In addition to socializing and exercising together, the suit claims that Abel assisted Jussie in obtaining recreational drugs.

In regard to the attack, the lawsuit claims that Jussie told Abel shortly before the assault, “Might need your help on the low.” The lawsuit then alleges that Jussie scoped out the location for the attack with the Osundairo brothers two days before it happened and did a dry run the day before.

They allegedly agreed Abel would attack Jussie but that he would not hurt him too bad and would also give Jussie a chance to appear to fight back.

The suit also claims that they scripted the brothers initiating the attack by calling Jussie homophobic and racial slurs. They allegedly discussed the brothers placing a rope around Jussie’s neck and pouring a liquid on it.

The suit alleges that the brothers were also instructed not to bring their cellphones.

The news of this lawsuit comes as no surprise after the city of Chicago threatened to sue Jussie if he didn’t pay up the $130,000 the city claimed he owed to cover the cost of the investigation of the January 29th attack.

Chicago can technically demand three times the actual cost of the investigation. This lawsuit means that Jussie will go to trial for allegedly faking the attack.

The burden falls on the city to prove it’s more likely than not Jussie faked it. The lawsuit comes after prosecutors dropped 16 criminal accounts against Jussie related to the attack.
