Twitter Confirms That Trump’s Ban Is Permanent Even If He Decides To Run For Office Again In 2024

#Roommates, Twitter is officially doubling down on its decision regarding the ban of former president, Donald Trump.  In a recent announcement, Twitter confirmed that Trump’s ban from the popular social media platform is permanent—regardless of his future political plans.

@CNN reports, Twitter continues to take a very firm stance when it comes to Donald Trump’s presence on its platform. The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Ned Segal, stated that regardless if he runs for presidential office again in 2024, Trump will never be permitted on Twitter again.

During a recent interview on CNBC, Segal detailed the decision to make Trump’s ban permanent:

“The way our policies work, when you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform, whether you’re a commentator, you’re a CFO, or you are a former or current public official. Remember, our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence, and if anybody does that, we have to remove them from the service and our policies don’t allow people to come back.”

The new statement from Twitter comes as Trump is currently in the early stages of his second impeachment, as the trial against him began earlier this week. It should be noted that if Trump is convicted in his impeachment trial, he will never be able to run for office again.

You’ll recall that Trump was initially banned from Twitter following his tweets that allegedly incited the riots at the U.S. Capitol that left six people dead when his supporters stormed the building.
