Tyra Banks Will Not Be Returning To VH-1 Revamp of ANTM, But…!!

So, as we reported to you guys last month, the unstoppable America’s Next Top Model franchise seemingly came to a halt on UPN/CW (depending on how old you are), until it was picked up by VH-1. According to Variety, Scott Koondel, chief licensing officer for CBS Corp., relayed to friend and executive producer of the show, Ken Mok, that there was still demand for ANTM and that’s how we got here today.

Speaking on ANTM, Koondel told Variety, “We could not be more excited to bring back and breathe new life into one of the greatest unscripted franchises on television,” said Koondel. “VH1 is the perfect partner for this new endeavor and we hope this is the beginning of a long relationship.” The tv ntework has ordered 14 episodes to start and will feature a brand new panel of judges, so no, Ms. Tyra won’t be hosting. She will, however, serve as executive producer alongside Ken Mok as she always has.

VH-1 GM Chris McCarthy has explained that the network is seeking to “reinvent” itself in hopes of attracting new viewers. “This is a homecoming for the series, as VH1 helped catapult the show to cultural icon status as the first cable network to air the show after it launched,” McCarthy said.

Congrats to Tyra, it looks like you made some history!
