UPDATE: Ja Morant Won’t Face Criminal Charges After Brandishing Gun On Instagram Live

NBA player Ja Morant, of the Memphis Grizzlies, will reportedly not face criminal charges in regard to the player brandishing a gun via Instagram Live, Saturday morning. According to CPR, the Glendale Police Department in Colorado revealed the decision on Wednesday.

The Glendale Police Department’s Investigation

According to the outlet, authorities looked into the Instagram Live video where Morant was seen holding the weapon. Additionally, police “found no proof that a crime was committed” andshared a statement with the public.

In this case, it should be noted that on the night in question the GPD did not receive any calls for service at the nightclub regarding a weapon of any type. Subsequently, no disturbances were reported, and no citizens of patrons of the club came forward to make a complaint.

The police department’sinvestigation “concluded that no one was threatened or menaced with the firearm.” Furthermore, the investigation revealed that “no firearm was ever located.

The NBA Issues An Update In Response To The Investigation’s Findings

According to the Associated Press, the Memphis Grizzlies revealed that Morant “will be away from the team for at least four more games.” The team shared the announcement after the update from the Glendale Police Department.

Additionally, Associated Press shared that the earliest NBA fans will see the 23-year-old player back on the court isMarch 17, when the Memphis Grizzlies play in San Antonio. However, the outlet added that there is “no guarantee” of that prediction.

As The Shade Room previously reported, the Memphis Grizzlies settled on a two-game suspension of Morant on March 4.

Later that day, Morant took responsiblity for the incident and issued an apology via his agent, Jim Tanner, as reported by The Shade Room.

Ja Morant’s Instagram Live Where He Was Seen With A Gun

As The Shade Room previously reported, Morant went live via Instagram early Saturday morning. The player appeared to be streaming froma strip club, after the Grizzlies lost to the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

During the stream, Morant was seen holding up a gun to his head and flashing it repeatedly to viewers.

Despite the Instagram Live being deleted, viewers were still able to share screenshots from the stream, exposing Morant’s actions.
